Private, local PDF processing
BrightTools reads the selected PDF in your browser and never uploads it. File contents, names and passwords are not sent to analytics. A shared 50 MB and 200-page safety limit keeps memory use predictable on phones and desktops.
Quality and validation
Compression renders each page at a bounded resolution, encodes it as JPEG and checks the real output bytes. Target-size pages use a finite coarse-to-fine search; they never delete pages or create blank or damaged PDFs. The result is reparsed to confirm page count and page dimensions before download.

Good to know
The browser rebuilds pages as JPEG images for strong compression. This can flatten searchable text, links, forms and annotations. Keep the original when those features matter.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. PDF bytes are processed locally in this browser and are never sent to a server or analytics.
Will text remain searchable?
Strong compression rasterizes pages, so text may no longer be searchable. Keep the original for editing or accessibility.
What if the result is larger?
BrightTools reports the actual size and keeps the original as the default download instead of claiming a saving.
